Ulster Rally and Belfast Zoo

We passed this scene on the route to the Stranraer ferry. At first, we though it was a small statue of a man and a boy down by the high-tide mark but it was just a couple of sticks covered in seaweed.

We stumbled across the Ulster Rally and stayed for the morning to take pictures, concentrating on the cars that got out-of-shape.

And occasionaly managing to get a snap of the driver and navigator working hard.

The Mark II Escort is clearly the motor to be seen in...

Naill Henry wanted to go straight on rather than round the bend but was stopped by an inpenetrable barrier of yellow tape.

Iain Johnston and Ernie Graham deserve a prize for taking a completely different route round the corner.

Sometimes you catch them cocking a leg

Politics is never far away in Ulster. The Gable End was taken from over a mile away, from a viewpoint in the zoo.

Eventually we made it to the Zoo.

Not all the wildlife was behind bars
